People practising English who are tired of drills and want to just use it.
Conversation
An hour to talk. Same time, every week, if you want it.
No lesson plan and no textbook. We talk about whatever you bring — your work, a film, an argument you're still turning over. If you'd like me to correct your English along the way, say so and I will. If you'd rather just talk, that's the whole point.
What an hour looks like.
You choose the subject.
Or bring nothing and I'll bring one. I keep a long list.
Corrections are optional.
Tell me at the start whether you want them. You can change your mind mid-sentence.
Same person, every time.
You never get reassigned. I remember what you told me last week.
Camera on or off.
Some people talk better without a face to look at. That's allowed.
Who books this
Different reasons, the same hour.
People who work alone and go whole days without a real conversation.
People who moved somewhere new and haven't found their footing yet.
What this isn’t
This is conversation, not therapy or counselling. I'm a language teacher, not a clinician. If you're going through something serious, I'll happily keep talking with you, but please also speak to someone qualified — and I'll gladly help you find them. This also isn't a dating or companionship service, and any booking that goes that way will be ended and refunded.
Conversation circles
A table of five, once a fortnight.
Four to six people, one theme per session, 55 minutes. I open the theme, then mostly get out of the way. It costs less than a standing hour, and for some people it works better: other voices in the room change how you talk.
- Four to six people, never more
- One theme announced before each session
- Two sessions a month, 55 minutes each
- $45 a month, cancel whenever you like
Drop in
One conversation, no commitment. A good way to find out whether the hour suits you.
- 30 minutes, one to one
- Corrections only if you ask
- Book any open slot
The standing hour
Most bookedFour sessions, the same slot each week
55 minutes, same time every week. The slot is held for you, so there is nothing to arrange again.
- 55 minutes weekly, four a month
- The same hour held in your name
- Corrections on request, never by default
- Camera optional
Conversation circle
Four to six people, one theme a week, twice a month. Cheaper, and better for some people than one to one.
- Two 55-minute sessions monthly
- Never more than six voices
- One theme per session
Mix freely. Credits work across lessons and conversation — book whichever you need that week.
